Incoming Nairobi ODM Chairlady Rosemary Okuta Rallies Nairobi Residents to Register as Voters Ahead of 2027 Elections
Incoming Nairobi ODM Chairlady Rosemary Okuta has urged city residents to turn out in large numbers for the upcoming Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) voter registration exercise.
The registration drive, which begins on 29th September 2025, is part of IEBC’s nationwide campaign under the theme “Kura Yako, Sauti Yako” (Your Vote, Your Voice).
Okuta emphasized that voter registration is the first step toward ensuring democratic participation and stronger representation, especially for the youth and women in Nairobi.
“Every eligible citizen must take this opportunity to register. Our voices can only be heard through the ballot. Nairobi needs leaders who reflect the will of the people, and that starts with voter registration,” she said.
Okuta, who has recently positioned herself as the incoming Nairobi ODM Chairlady, pledged to spearhead grassroots mobilization to boost the numbers in the city. She said the ODM party would intensify civic education and door-to-door campaigns to encourage residents not only to register but also to turn up and vote in 2027.
IEBC has urged Kenyans who recently attained the age of 18, as well as those who have never registered before, to take advantage of the exercise.
