Isaac Mwaura: Government to Focus on Youth Employment in Public Sector

By Grace Mwende

Government Spokesman Hon. Isaac Mwaura has announced that President William Ruto's administration has designated 46,000 vacant positions in the public sector exclusively for the youth. This initiative is part of the government's effort to boost youth involvement in government roles.

To further this goal, the government is encouraging those aged 60 and above to retire, creating more opportunities for younger generations to enter the public sector. This strategy reflects the administration's broader mission to ensure that Kenya's youth have a significant role in shaping the nation's future.

Hon. Mwaura urged the youth, particularly those from the Gen Z demographic, to remain patient and trust that President Ruto is attentive to their needs and aspirations.

During the weekly press conference, Mwaura also highlighted the importance of supporting the inclusive government formed by President Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, emphasizing its commitment to national unity.

"The President has listened to the voices of our young people, and this initiative is a clear demonstration of his commitment to empowering the youth," Mwaura stated.

He also called on the media to contribute positively by accurately reporting on the government's efforts and supporting these initiatives through their coverage.

"The media plays a critical role in shaping public perception, and we encourage them to support the government's initiatives aimed at building a more inclusive future," Mwaura added.
