TVS Motor Company Sets Sights on Africa’s Diverse Markets Under New Boss
TVS Motor Company is placing emphasis on understanding local markets as Pradeep Chaurasiya takes over as Business Head of Africa for its International Business division, overseeing the company’s journey across more than 50 countries.
Chaurasiya, who has spent eight years with the company in Africa, said the continent’s diversity requires businesses to adapt their strategies to different cultures, customer expectations and ways of doing business.
“Africa is not one market. It is many, each with its own people, culture, and way of doing business,” he said.
His appointment reflects a career progression that began with responsibility for one African country before expanding to a continent-wide leadership role.
In his remarks announcing the development on October 14, 2026, Chaurasiya highlighted the lessons he had learnt while working across different markets, describing learning, curiosity and experimentation as important principles in business growth.
He said understanding customers’ daily transport needs was particularly important in markets such as Kenya, where mobility supports livelihoods and everyday economic activities.
The company’s approach relies on relationships with distributors and business partners who help connect its products with customers in local markets.
Chaurasiya described these partners as central to TVS’s growth on the ground, while also thanking customers for trusting the company as part of their daily lives.
He credited colleagues for their work and ideas and acknowledged mentors for providing guidance and honest feedback throughout his career.
As he assumes the new position, Chaurasiya said he intends to build on the experience gained over the past eight years by remaining open to new ideas and listening to the people and businesses he works with.
“I’m excited about what lies ahead, and committed to building on this foundation with humility, with listening, and with the same spirit of experimentation that got us here,” he said.
His remarks point to the importance of locally informed business strategies as companies operating across Africa navigate different consumer markets and commercial conditions.
