Martha Karua Asks Ruto Regime Shape up or Ship Out, Over Economic Sabotage and Healthcare Failures

NARC party leader, Hon. Martha Karua, has delivered a scathing critique of President William Ruto's administration, declaring that the regime "stands impeached" due to its mismanagement of the economy and undermining of healthcare services.

Speaking at her residence earlier today, Karua accused the government of enabling shady deals that are detrimental to Kenya's economic stability.

Specifically, she highlighted the controversial takeover of the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) by the Adani Group, a deal she claims epitomizes the regime's "economic sabotage."

“This regime has sabotaged the economy by allowing questionable deals like the takeover of our national gateway, JKIA, by the Adani group," Karua stated.

She added that such decisions, made without public scrutiny or proper accountability, put Kenya's infrastructure and financial future in jeopardy.

Karua also took issue with the government's introduction of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), which she claims has worsened healthcare access for ordinary Kenyans.

According to her, SHIF has replaced the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) but has come at a greater cost to contributors while reducing essential services, particularly in maternity care.

“The SHIF has increased the contributions Kenyans are required to pay but has restricted the services they receive. Maternity care, which was widely available under NHIF, is now limited under this new scheme,” Karua said.

Her remarks come amid growing public discontent over rising costs of living and concerns that the government’s policy shifts are exacerbating inequality. Karua's statements are expected to fuel further debate on the country's economic direction and healthcare reforms.
