Naivas Commits Ksh.5 Million in Kind Towards Floods Relief Efforts

Kenya’s leading supermarket chain, Naivas, has committed to extend support in the ongoing flood relief efforts through donations in kind.

The support will be channelled through the Kenya Red Cross who have been at the forefront of these efforts.

Presently, the Kenya Red Cross is looking to support 4,500 households and Naivas will donate 4,500 care packs bearing an assortment of dry food items as directed by
the humanitarian agency. The donation is to the tune of Kshs. 5,000,000.

“We understand that time is of the essence given how dire the situation is and continues to be and as such, extending this support in the shortest timeframe has been our priority. As we always say, as a homegrown brand whose DNA is Kenyan, we have a duty to the communities in which we operate, and this is one of those times when we must stand to be counted. This is not a one-off initiative, but we are looking at other ways to leverage our network to keep playing our part in supporting those impacted by the devastating floods,” said David Kimani, Managing Director, Naivas.

The donations are expected to be delivered to the Kenya Red Cross Head Office in South C
this week for forward processing by them to the affected families.
