MNL Africa Leadership Circle Begins in Nairobi as Leaders Chart Africa’s Growth Agenda
The inaugural MNL Africa Leadership Circle 2026 has commenced in Nairobi, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, regulators, legal practitioners, investors, development institutions and private sector executives from five continents to discuss opportunities and challenges shaping Africa’s economic future.
Held under the theme “Doing Business in Kenya & Africa,” the forum is focusing on leadership excellence, innovation, sustainable development and strategic opportunities that can accelerate the continent’s growth and transformation. Participants are also exploring ways to strengthen Africa’s competitiveness, improve investment ecosystems and foster partnerships that promote long-term economic development.
Opening the forum, Evelyne Mbula Nzuki, Founder and Managing Partner of MN Legal (MNL Advocates LLP), stressed the importance of aligning policy, investment and development goals across the continent.
“Africa has never lacked opportunity. What it has often lacked is alignment—between capital and policy, ambition and infrastructure, and vision and execution,” she said.
Nzuki emphasized that sustainable growth can only be achieved through collaboration among governments, investors, regulators and communities, adding that inclusivity remains critical to advancing Kenya’s and Africa’s capital markets and broader socio-economic development.
Speaking during the event, Daniel Mainda, Chief Executive Officer of the Nairobi International Financial Centre Authority, highlighted the importance of strategic development, strong regulatory frameworks and international positioning in attracting investment and enhancing Africa’s competitiveness in global markets.
Mainda noted that institutional reforms, investor-focused incentives and deeper engagement with global financial markets, multilateral institutions and sovereign investors are essential in positioning Kenya and the wider African continent as attractive destinations for investment.
He further pointed to Africa’s strong economic prospects, driven by favorable demographics, rapid urbanization, digital transformation and growing regional integration.
“With a population of over 1.4 billion people, accelerating digital adoption, and continental integration through initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, Africa represents one of the most compelling growth markets globally,” he said.
The MNL Africa Leadership Circle is expected to generate actionable insights, strengthen partnerships and contribute to efforts aimed at improving Africa’s business environment, boosting investor confidence and promoting sustainable development across the continent.
